ENERGIZED

The creation and utilization of energy captivates me. I consider energy holistically, recognizing its omnipresence in our daily lives—from the energy propelling our bodies to the energy powering our homes, buildings, and cities. The term "energy" evokes diverse interpretations and emotions. The ongoing debate over energy production methods, such as petroleum versus wind, has spurred a wave of opinions and groups capitalizing on these emotions. For some, "energy" may conjure thoughts of caffeine, work, or the absence of energy during sleep. Others might consider energy at the molecular level, contemplating heart and metabolic rates. Indeed, energy is ubiquitous.

In my profession within oil and gas production, my days begin and end with contemplations on extracting oil efficiently from the Permian Basin in West Texas. My role is to optimize the extraction of hydrocarbons from the earth for consumer use. Interestingly, I manage wells drilled by the previous generation. RHR Oil & Gas, based in Fort Worth, Texas, holds over 30 leases with roughly 100 wells, all longstanding producers. My daily task is to sustain their output. Currently, my focus is not on acquiring and drilling new land but on stewarding the legacy of my predecessors. I take pride in advancing the hard work of former oilmen, finding innovative ways to revitalize these wells and enhance their productivity. This mission extends beyond my professional life, prompting me to explore energy creation in all facets of my existence. This blog will chronicle my exploration of not only my occupation and the broader energy discourse but also the personal growth and renewed purpose I've discovered through a lifestyle transformation in pursuit of energy.
